Uttarakhand STF bursts school pad hacking scam

In a major development, three young people from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, were taken into custody by the Cyber Crime unit of the Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) for allegedly hacking a school's "SchoolPad" digital platform and scamming parents and pupils.  The three people who were taken into custody are Mohammad Faraz of Bankhana, Sudama Diwakar of Akashpuram, and 19-year-old Mohammad Rizwan of Mullapur village.

Three SIM cards, two bank passbooks, and four cell phones used in the crime were found by the authorities.  STF officials claim that the scam was executed by the cybercriminals using a sophisticated spoof application and misleading messaging.  After learning that the official "SchoolPad" software had been compromised, the DIS City Campus filed the complaint in July 2023.
