Case 5 - Fake Credit message

Kamal Kumar received a call from someone pretending to be his son's friend, claiming he accidentally sent ₹40,000 instead of ₹4,000 and asking for the balance to be returned. Kamal sent ₹36,000, only to learn later from his son that no money was ever sent. Trying to recover the amount, Kamal searched for a bank helpline on Google, but called a fake number. The scammer tricked him into downloading a screen-sharing app (Anydesk) and stole another ₹68,000 from his account.

Case 5 - Fake Credit message

Kamal Kumar receives a call on his cell phone one day from someone who claims, "Uncle ji, I am your son's friend."
Your son had loaned me four thousand rupees. I've been asked to send it to your account by him. I'm forwarding it to you. Kamal Kumar concurred.

The caller sent Kamal Kumar a phonepay message on his cell phone. This kind of thing. As soon as the message was sent, Uncle Ji received a second call, stating that he had accidentally sent one more

was included, and 40,000 were dispatched. I'm in the medical facility. After subtracting 40,000, you give back the
remaining sum to me. Kamal followed suit, telling his son when he got home that his friend had donated 40,000. According to the son, I hadn't handed any money to anyone. When Kamal called the same number once more, it was turned off. He discovers that there is no money in his account. Instead, the remaining 36,000 that he had sent had been deducted.

Kamal now realised that he had been duped. Kamal Kumar considered calling the bank and filing a complaint after falling victim to fraud. He looked up the customer service number on Google, dialled it, and explained his predicament. That individual tells Kamal, "Sir, I'm here to help," and forces him to download the screen-sharing program Anydesk.Because of screen sharing, roughly 68 thousand more were moved from Kamal's mobile device's UPI ID. Due to incomplete information and obtaining the customer service number from the incorrect source, he falls victim to fraud once more.

In this manner, you may comprehend how you were initially tricked emotionally by phoney communications and then technically trapped after phoney customer service called.

If you do not verify the message of any unknown call then you can become a victim of similar fraud.
