Theat code cracked : Delhi cops arrest 5 in Jamatara and Kolkata

Recently, the gang tricked a Hauz Khas resident out of Rs 16 lakh by forcing him to download a phony banking application under the guise of e-KYC. "The scam resulted in unauthorised access to his bank account, the illegal sanction of a personal loan, and siphoning of money through multiple mule accounts," according to the police.
Ankit Chauhan, DCP (South), assembled a team to look into the matter. A well-organized interstate cyber fraud gang based in Delhi, Kolkata (West Bengal), and Jamtara (Jharkhand) was discovered during the investigation. Pranab Mondal (30), a mule bank account holder and first beneficiary, was apprehended during raids in Kolkata. Rs 7,15,000 had been credited to and later taken out of his account.

Monjee Yadav, a 39-year-old mule account holder and cash withdrawal facilitator, was the second suspect. He facilitated the withdrawal of Rs 1,00,000. The third, Rahil Khan (30), was identified by CCTV footage as a cash withdrawal agent who took out counterfeit money from many ATMs.

Shiv Shakti Kumar (30), the primary handler and cash collecting agent who oversaw the transfer of funds, the distribution of commissions, and the conversion of pilfered funds into cryptocurrency (USDT), was later apprehended by authorities during a raid on Jamtara in Jharkhand. Rupesh Das, a 34-year-old handler from Jamtara, was also taken into custody.
Additionally, 14 cell phones, 20 ATM debit cards, 20 SIM cards, 20 checkbooks, five bank passbooks, and four bank welcome kits were found by the police.
