Agra Cyber Police Dismantle a Rs 110 Crore Global Fraud Syndicate: Rs 13 Lakh Recovered, 5 Arrested
The Agra Cyber Crime Police Station successfully dismantled an international fraud syndicate involved in duping Indian citizens under the pretext of high-profit investments and digital arrests. The gang operated through fake websites, Telegram groups, and social media platforms, transferring ill-gotten gains using sophisticated methods. They orchestrated financial scams across multiple states, siphoning approximately Rs 110 crores.
AGRA: An international fraud syndicate that deceived Indian citizens by posing as high-profit investments and digital arrests was successfully disrupted by the Agra Cyber Crime Police Station. The gang used sophisticated techniques to move ill-gotten riches through social media platforms, Telegram groups, and phony websites. They planned financial frauds in several states, embezzling almost Rs 110 crores.
Operandi Modus
The people who were detained worked along with cybercriminals from Vietnam, Hong Kong, Cambodia, and Laos. They carried out phony digital arrest operations, task jobs, and stock investment frauds using Indian corporate bank accounts.
The gang used VPNs for privacy, OTP exchanges, and APK files to get access to accounts. Through Telegram channels, they acquired corporate and shell accounts and extracted stolen money, which they subsequently transferred to cryptocurrency wallets such as Bitget and Binance.
Seizing and Arresting
Based on intelligence and surveillance, the Cyber Crime team detained five people from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Delhi. 81 bank accounts, one laptop, nine cell phones, two SIM cards, a dongle, eighteen debit cards, seven check books, two PAN cards, counterfeit documents, foreign currency, and Rs. 13 lakh were among the items confiscated.
