NEW DELHI: Up to 15 phony websites have impersonated the Supreme Court of India's official website, resulting in a serious phishing attack.

The purpose of these fraudulent sites is to trick users into disclosing private and sensitive information.
The Supreme Court's Registrar (Technology), H.S. Jaggi, disclosed in a public notification that these fraudulent websites are housed under URLs such
- www.scigoin.com
- www.judiciarycheck.in
- www.sclcase.com and others
These websites imitate the Supreme Court's official website, www.sci.gov.in, with the intention of obtaining personal information from unwary users.
By using these URLs, the attackers are requesting private information. In its caution, the Registry urged the public to avoid disclosing any personal information on these platforms because doing so puts them at risk of identity theft.
Public Alert: Exercise Caution
The Supreme Court made it clear that it never asks users for private, sensitive, or financial information. People are encouraged to do the following to prevent becoming victims of such scams:
- Verify URLs by hovering over links before clicking.
- Avoid sharing sensitive information on unverified websites.
- Be cautious of unsolicited links received via messages or emails.
How to Respond if You're a Victim
In the event that you believe your data has been hacked, the Supreme Court suggests:
1. Immediately changing the passwords for every online account.
2. Reporting unwanted access by getting in touch with your bank or credit card company.

The Supreme Court advises the following if you think your data has been compromised:
1. All internet accounts should have their passwords changed right away.
2. Contacting your bank or credit card company to report unauthorized access.
